Tender-Hearted Ones

By Eileen and the In-betweens

Lovers & Fighters (lyrics below)

You better believe there’s cracks in the cement,
Capitalism just came and went
You better believe there’s cracks in the cement,
Patriarchy just came and went

This world is for the lovers and the fighters
The bold hearts and the dream igniters
The bold hearts and the DE-colonizers
The bold hearts and the dream igniters

Since we’re all on this plane together,
And it’s goin’ down in bad weather
We might as well just learn how to fly
We might as well just learn how to fly

You better believe there’s cracks in the cement,
Transphobia just came and went
You better believe there’s cracks in the cement,
White supremacy just came and went

Since we’re all on this plane together,
And it’s goin’ down in bad weather
We might as well just learn how to fly
We might as well just learn how to fly

This world is for the lovers and the fighters
The bold hearts and the dream igniters
The bold hearts and the de-colonizers
The bold hearts and the dream igniters

The band is fronted by Eileen Shaughnessy, an educator, organizer, and musician.  After studying with eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, Eileen is also an experienced facilitator in the “Work that Reconnects,” which ties together deep ecology and Buddhism to cultivate inner & outer resiliency in these times of ecological, cultural, & political turmoil. Eileen and the In-Betweens has toured throughout the U.S. and Canada, and have highlighted events such as the Albuquerque Women’s March, playing for 10,000 people. Their gifted handling of many instruments and activist-inspired lyrics take on tender yet stirring melodies.
